Born in Jackson, Minnesota, raised in Stockton, Caslifornia, resided in Woodland, Washington, for 32 years and retiring to Alba, Texas, where he passed away at home. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Patty; only son, Vernon; two brothers, Ivan Loyall; and his parents, Loyall and Marjorie. He is survived by his daughter, DeeAnna Holland; grandsons, Alex and Andrew Holland; and great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Elena Holland; sister, Willetta Steele; and brother, Terry Woolen. Boots retired in 2004 from Graphic Packaging in North Portland where he worked as a machinist and was very active in AWPPW Local 78. Upon retiring he pursued his second career as a landscaper and logger on his Texas property where he took great joy in turning pastureland into a park setting, hunting gophers and working on his tan. Boots was a loving and devoted husband and father but especially enjoyed being a granddad and was quite smitten with his great-granddaughters. Graveside burial service was held on June 3, 2022 at Northwood Park Cemetery in Ridgefield, Washington. A celebration of life reception was held at Casa Tapatia Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in Woodland, Washington. Published in The Columbian, Vancouver, Washington on June 3, 2022.
