Description	:	Miss LaVerna Meinke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Meinke became the bride of Mr. Edmund Hansmeyer of Kramer, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Hansmeyer of Norman, Oklahoma on Thursday evening, January 20 at 7 o'clock. Rev. Wm. Pebler, pastor of the Lutheran Church, officiated. The double-ring ceremony, with candlelight service, took place at the home of the bride's parents at Kramer in the presence of 75 guests. Rev. Wm. Pebler, pastor of the Lutheran Church, officiated. The double-ring ceremony, with candlelight service, took place at the home of the bride's parents at Kramer in the presence of 75 guests. The room was decorated with pink and blue streamers with large foliage plants forming the background. The candles were lighted by Miss Esther Kahle, who also had charge of the gift book. She wore a two-piece gold colored gaberdine dress. She wore a gold flower in her hair. The bridesmaid was Miss Adeline Baacke. She wore a two-piece pink crepe dress with a full pleated skirt. Her corsage was of white carnations. The bride wore a street length dress of aqua blue which was fashioned with fringes at waistline and sleeves. She wore a corsage of pink and yellow tinted roses. Melvin Mundt, cousin of the bride, served as best man. Following the ceremony, a reception was held. A large wedding cake, baked by Adeline Baacke and decorated by Delores Plouzek, centered the table. The groom is a graduate of the Norman high school of Norman, Oklahoma. He recently completed a six-month mechanics training course with the International Harvester Co. and is now employed at McCormick Deering store in Crete. A large group of friends chivaried the newlyweds later in the evening. Music was furnished by Ben Hackstock, John Portsche, and Willard Henning. The couple will make their home in Kramer. She was born September 9, 1921, in a farm home at rural Kramer to John and Dora Meinke. She was baptized October 9, 1921 and was confirmed May 12, 1935. She was educated at St. John Parochial School. LaVerna married Edmund L. Hansmeyer on January 20, 1944, and they were blessed with 59 years of marriage. They lived in Kramer until 1960, when they moved to a farm west of Hallam. They lived there until they moved to Crete in 1979, where LaVerna lived until she moved to the Wilber Care Center in 2004. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kramer, where she was active in the Joy Group, sang in the choir, and was involved with the Ladies Aid, where she held various offices. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Eldean and Diane Hansmeyer, Roy and Judi Hansmeyer, Wayne and Connie Hansmeyer, all of Hallam, Norman Hansmeyer and special friend Lois Bartelme of Winfield, Iowa; grandchildren, Christopher, Wesley, Medea, David, Elizabeth, Kirsten, Janna, Lynsi, Jared, and Lukas; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund; sisters, Emma Kahle, Alvina Feeken, Helen Johnson, and Lena Meinke. Funeral services were held November 9 at St. John Lutheran Church at Kramer with Pastor Wade Mattsfield officiating. Interment was at St. John Lutheran Cemetery at Kramer. Soloists were Lynsi Morten and Wesley Hansmeyer. Organist was Jolene Reetz, guitarist, Tyler Morten, and pianist, Janna Cooley. Pallbearers were David Hansmeyer, Lukas Hansmeyer, Jared Hansmeyer, Chris Hansmeyer, Wes Hansmeyer, and Rodney Hillgren. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Johnson, Ron Feeken, Tyler Morten, Josh Cooley, Jason Meyer, Mark Henke, Wilmer Johnson, and Donna Johnson. Kuncl Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
