La Verna Marie, the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Kutzbach) Heins, was born February 1, 1923. She attended country school in Clayton County, Iowa. La Verna was united in marriage with Roland Dundee on August 31, 1948. To this union, five children were born. La Verna was a great cook and she loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed fishing, going to the "boat", and playing cards and bingo. La... La Verna Marie, the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Kutzbach) Heins, was born February 1, 1923. She attended country school in Clayton County, Iowa. La Verna was united in marriage with Roland Dundee on August 31, 1948. To this union, five children were born. La Verna was a great cook and she loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed fishing, going to the "boat", and playing cards and bingo. La Verna loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed playing board games and doing puzzles with her grandchildren. La Verna is survived by her children, Barbara (Terry) Bohr of Ossian, Iowa; Bonnie Erickson of Postville, Iowa; Loren "Pete" (Mary) Dundee of West Union, Iowa; and Randy (Francine) Dundee of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a stepson, Dennis Dundee of Elma, Iowa; eighteen grandchildren, Jeff (Holly) Bohr, Brian (Kari) Bohr, Chad Bohr, Jenny (Rodney) Herman, Tami Erickson, Jodi (Aaron) Deering, Travis Erickson, Kerra (Jeremy) Hageman, Korey Dundee, Kyle Dundee, Aaron (fiancée, Jeanette) Dundee, Katie (Dylan) Norton, Sarah Dundee, Nicholas Harper, Madison Dundee, Reece Dundee, John Dundee, and Jolene Dundee; fifteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. La Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Roland; her son, Larry Dundee; her parents; three brothers, Henry, Jr., Ernie, and Glen Heins; her sister, Mae Sawvel; three sisters-in-law, Bernita Heins, Lola Heins, and Eunice Heins; and one brother-in-law, Virgil Sawvel. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Jack Gannett as the Officiant.
