Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015, at Albion Cemetery in Albion, IA. Laverne Andrew Kroener, son of Raymond and Loretta Kroener was born on January 27, 1939 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He grew up and attend school in Albion, IA. He served four years in the United States Navy and afterwards married Dixie Johnson. They were blessed with eight daughters: Linda, Sharon, Joan, Phyllis, Marsha, Michelle, Cindy and Teresa. He spent most of his life living in the Marshall County area. He was a lifetime semi driver and farmer. Some of his hobbies included taking his motor home on trips to go fishing and camping. Other favorites were watching NASCAR races and football. He was a past member of the Eagles Club in Tama. Laverne is survived by his children, Sharon Schaumberg, Joan (Rick) Swanson, Phyllis Kroener, all of Marshalltown, IA, Marsha Underberg, Teresa Brinker both of Grinnell, IA and Cindy Kroener of Colorado; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Kroener of Marshalltown, IA, Doris Anderson of Marshalltown, IA and Ruby Baty of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Kristy; daughter, Linda Robbins, daughter, Michelle in infancy; and great granddaughter, Taylor. Graveside services for Laverne Andrew Kroener, were held Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Albion Cemetery in Albion, IA. Bobby Shomo was officiant for the service. Military honors were rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard, Marshalltown VFW Post 839 of Marshalltown and Legion Posts in the Marshalltown area. Mark Anderson, Rick Swanson, Ron Cummings, Denny Gould and Justin Love acted as casket bearers for the service.
