Description	:	LaVerne Charles Aulner was born Sept 23, 1926 in Farmer, South Dakota. He moved to White, SD when he was around six years old. He played football and baseball. LaVerne also joined the boxing team, earning not only his Golden Gloves, but his nick name Lefty. He was in band, Glee and the art director of his class year book and voted most handsome in his class. He graduated and joined the Air Force at age 17 serving in the South Pacific Theatre. He moved to White, SD when he was around six years old. He played football and baseball. LaVerne also joined the boxing team, earning not only his Golden Gloves, but his nick name Lefty. He was in band, Glee and the art director of his class year book and voted most handsome in his class. He graduated and joined the Air Force at age 17 serving in the South Pacific Theatre. He served honorably as a Flight Engineer until the end of WWll. After his discharge from the Air Force, LaVerne worked on the construction of steel grain dryers. He then started his own construction company. He met Violet Ann Weintjes in Sioux Falls, SD and they were married in a simple ceremony. “Lefty”, as he was known, went back into the service as a Flight Engineer in the Air National Guard in Sioux Falls SD. Soon three girls were born, Candis, Sandra and Pamela. The family moved to a new house on West 41st and was joined by a son, named Timothy. They lived there until the kids moved out and started their own lives. Lefty and Carney then sold the house and moved to Renner SD. In 1984, the Lord took his brown eyed beauty from his life. He continued to live in Renner until he married his second love, Beatrice. They traveled to Wasillia, Alaska and fell in love with the state. They returned to South Dakota, sold the house and moved to Wasillia. The couple enjoyed each other’s company and the Alaskan life until Beatrice was taken from him. Lefty continued to enjoy Alaska until his health had deteriorated and he passed away on April 22, 2013. Lefty had enjoyed a full life of happiness, love, his love of the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, fixing things, working with his hands. His love of family lives on and he will be missed. He is survived by three daughters, Candi Patch of Wasilla AK, Sandra Mamey of Lake Havasu, AZ, Pamela Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD and one son, Timothy Aulner Bellevue NE; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and a sister, Betty Weber. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, and four siblings. Funeral Service Friday May 3, 2013, 1:30 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home
