Wolff was born at Hosmer, SD, on February 20, 1926, to Otto and Ann (Lutz) Wolff. The family moved to Java, SD, where she attended school until 1938, when they moved to Eureka, SD. LaVerne L. Wolff was born at Hosmer, SD, on February 20, 1926, to Otto and Ann (Lutz) Wolff. The family moved to Java, SD, where she attended school until 1938, when they moved to Eureka, SD. LaVerne graduated from Eureka High School with the Class of 1944. She then attended Northern State Teacher's College and received her teaching certificate. She taught school in the rural Eureka area. LaVerne was united in marriage to Ed B. Guidice at Eureka, SD, on February 29, 1948. They made their home in Eureka. She taught school in rural McPherson County and Eureka City School. While she attended Northern State Teacher's College, she taught at a Hutterite Colony in rural Ipswich for two years. In 1966, they moved to Aberdeen. LaVerne received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1968. She taught at Elm Valley School until she retired in 1987. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was active in Sarah Circle. She was also a member of Daughters of the Nile, American Legion Auxiliary in Eureka, Shrine Auxiliary, serving as president for both the American Legion and the Shrine Auxiliary. Grateful for having shared LaVerne's life are her daughters: Kathy (Stan) Schaffer, Jayne Hunt, and Joyce (Joel Terry) Riskas; three grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren. Preceding LaVerne in death are her husband, Ed Guidice, parents, Otto and Anna Wolff, sisters: Ramona Bertsch and Audrey Schaffer, brother, Morris Wolff, granddaughter, Mary Larson, and nephew, Tom W Contributor: Trudys (50789844)
