She was born on June 10, 1920 in Adams Township, Defiance County to the late William and Frieda (Gerken) Biederstedt. She married Harold Samlow on December 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1985. Lavina was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Florida, Ohio. She married Harold Samlow on December 25, 1940 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1985. Lavina was a homemaker and a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Florida, Ohio. Lavina is survived by three sons, Larry (Vicki) Samlow of Holgate, Ohio, Ronald (Cindy) Samlow of Smithville, Missouri, and David (Ruth) Samlow of Napoleon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Velma Godeke of Deshler, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Samlow; six sisters, Alma Biederstedt, Emma Cohrs, Laura Prigge, Amelia Norden, Hilda Riefers, and Martha Gruenhagen; two brothers, Fred and Arnold Biederstedt. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Snyder Wesche Funeral Home of Napoleon and on Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Florida, Ohio with Rev. Robert Azinger, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance, Ohio. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund or A Charity of The Donor's Choice.
