LaVine Heronimus was born on August 21, 1920, in Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lizzeta (Graves) Heronimus. She was raised and educated in the Wellsburg school district, graduating from Wellsburg High School. On May, 15, 1942, LaVine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Odie W. Meyer in Wellsburg, Iowa. She was a hard working woman, devoting 10 years of her life to Fisher Controls. LaVine was a proud member of UAW Local 893 and First Presbyterian Church. LaVine had a passion for reading, upholstery, collecting bells, and most importantly, the love she had for her pets. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Lynn (Betty) Meyer; grandchildren: Lisa (Don Rowley) Weuve, Shelley (Ken) Gratopp, and Kristin (Brian Rahn) Johnson; great-grandchildren: Kellianne (JJ) Torres, Joshua Weuve, Addie (Brock Pieters) Gratopp, Baylee Gratopp and Chase Gratopp. great-great grandchildren: Paighton and Gage Torres. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Odie and her parents, John and Lizzeta. Funeral services for LaVine Meyer, 95, of Marshalltown, IA, were held Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Dr. Richard King officiating. Mrs. Meyer was laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Ken Gratopp, Chase Gratopp, Don Rowley, Max Meyer, Ken Brandenburg and Leon Harms. Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Meyer and Harvin Meyer. Groups attending were from First Presbyterian Church, Iowa River Hospice and UAW Retirees, along with family and friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home was honored to entrusted with the care of Mrs. Meyer and her family.
