Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. LaVohn was born April 1, 1927 in Klemme, Iowa, the daughter of Werner and Mable (Rosendahl) Schlawin. She was baptized and confirmed at the Reformed and Evangelical Church, Klemme. In early teens, she enjoyed showing show cattle and being involved in 4-H. Following graduating from Klemme High School in 1944, she graduated from Cosmetology in Des Moines and has been a licensed beautician for over 50+ years. She worked at various beauty salons. LaVohn married a veteran and farmer, Wayne "Bud" Badker on September 7, 1947 at the Reformed Evangelical Church, Klemme, Iowa. They lived on various farms and then settled on the home place south of Clear Lake. They raised and trained quarterhorses and showed Pony of Americas. They traveled with the two grandson to horse shows, May through Mid-October about every weekend. Besides sewing western shirts and giving ponies a bath for horse shows, she was active in the Clear Lake United Methodist Church Altar Guild, Veterans Auxiliary and was Secretary of North Iowa Snowmobile Club. She enjoyed snowmobiling until they discovered the warm weather in Arizona and playing golf. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Karen) Badker, Clear Lake, IA; two grandsons, Scott (Tina) Badker, Klemme; and Curt (Michele) Clear Lake; two great-grandsons, Drake and Carson; three stepgreat-grandchildren: Wad and Austin Lohman and Michaela Delzer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
