Description	:	LaVon C. Martinec, 56, of Greeley, CO, passed away at her home March 4, 2007, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. A funeral service will be held March 9, 2007 at Hilltop United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. Miller funeral home in Sioux Falls in charge of arrangements. Martinec on September 9, 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1969 and then attended and graduated from Northwest College of Commerce in 1970. LaVon worked for John Morrell Co. in Sioux Falls from 1976 to 1996 when she and her family relocated to Greeley in 1996. She worked for State Farm Insurance from 1999 to 2006. LaVon enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, crocheting, shopping, traveling, outdoor activities and having fun with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Philip T. Martinec of Greeley; daughters, Tonya and husband, Cory Steufen of Wyandotte, OK, Tracy and husband, Pat Glasford of Crooks, SD, and Taralee Waack of Greeley; brothers, Terry Hickle and wife, Sheryl, of Broadland, SD and Randy Hickle and wife, Dawn, of Las Vegas, NV; and grandchildren, Heater, Emily, and Derek Stuefan of Wyandotte, OK and Brayden Glasford of Crooks, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Crystal Dawn Hickle.
