Description	:	COLUMBUS - Lawrence George Lux, 61, of Columbus, passed away July 8, 2011, at The Cottonwood House Assisted Living in Columbus. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby with Fr. John Rooney officiating. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday with a 7 p.m. rosary following at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola. He attended Sacred Heart elementary and graduated from Shelby High School in 1967. He then attended Kearney College where he received his BA in Political Science in 1971. He continued his education in Lincoln and in 1985 received his masters in Library Science. He lived in various places including Las Cruces, N.M., the border town of Columbus, N.M., and in 2005 he returned to Columbus, where he resided until his passing. Over the years, Lawrence was the author of numerous books, plays and poetry. He enjoyed writing, internet blogging, reading and family activities. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Dolores Lux, and one nephew Nick Bartushock.
