Park Ave., died early this morning at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County. He was born December 8, 1895, near Deep River, Iowa. He lived on his parents' homesteaded farm in South Dakota in 1907 and in 1908 they returned to Iowa. "Larry" Kibbee, 88, of 2180 N. Park Ave., died early this morning at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County. He was born December 8, 1895, near Deep River, Iowa. He lived on his parents' homesteaded farm in South Dakota in 1907 and in 1908 they returned to Iowa. He joined the Army in 1917 and was stationed in Iowa, New Mexico and Texas before being discharged in 1918 as a second lieutenant in the infantry. Mr. Kibbee graduated from the University of Southern Minnesota in 1920 and in 1923 moved to Winnebago, where he established a freight line and was appointed post master in 1927. He married Irene Falconer on June 18, 1930 in Fremont and they moved from Winnebago to Fremont in 1946 where they established The Fremont Cleaners. Mr. Kibbee also worked as a postman in Fremont and retired from the Postal Service in 1960. He was Past Master of Winnebago Masonic Lodge 309 AF & AM and recently received the Bronze Jordan Medal for longest membership in that lodge. He was a 52-year member of the Fremont Lodge 15 AF & AM , past commander of the American Legion Post of Winnebago and was a life member of the Fremont American Legion Post 20. Mr. Kibbee was a member of the Fremont Honor Guard, which performed military services at funerals, and belonged to the World War I Barracks of Fremont and the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 89. Mr. Kibbee is survived by his wife Irene, a former Dodge county clerk. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Swearingin officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 854. Ludvigsen Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Fremont Masonic Lodge will conduct public services at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established to the Presbyterian Church and Fremont Masonic Lodge.
