"Butch" Miller, 65, died February 21, 2022, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. He was born June 6, 1956, in Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Lawrence J. "Brownie" and Marie (Lang) Miller. Butch was born and raised on the family farm near Dubuque and continued to farm and raise cattle there. Butch graduated from Claflin High School in 1974. On April 24, 1982, he married Vicki Folk at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #2630. Butch also worked for Jack Schlessiger, Brent Beran, and Schreiber Angus Farms. Butch was a cowboy who loved westerns and rodeoing. He helped to build the arena in Odin along with Bones Prosser. He also loved dancing, especially swing dancing and led many grand marches. He was a sports enthusiast and cheered for the Royals and the Chiefs. He especially loved watching his kids compete. He never missed a game and even coached their basketball teams at Claflin High School. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Vicki Miller of the home; daughter, Maggie Kriegh and husband Kyle of Great Bend; son, Luke Miller and fiancé Addy of Springfield, Missouri; brother, John Miller and wife Connie of Crown Point, Indiana; sister, June Abbott of Atlanta, Georgia; mother-in-law, Beverly Jewell of Claflin; brother-in-law, Mike Folk and wife Cherie of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sisters-in-law, Debbie Oeser of Claflin, Sherry DeWerff and husband Jeff of Ellinwood; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved grandchidlren, Kenadee "Pooper" and Abell Kriegh; and of course his loyal dog, Aunt Bea. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Max Folk, and three brothers-in-law, Greg Abbott, Chris Oeser and Mark Folk. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Odin, Kansas, celebrated by Father Terrance Klein. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Dubuque, Kansas.
