The casket bearers at the Willow service: will be Don Peterson, Joe Pulver, Joe Ewing, Ed Lyons, Warren Watkins and Gerrit Vanden Brink. Lawrence B. Miller Lawrence, son of John J. and Catherine Byrne Miller, was born August 3, 1899, at Rockford, Illinois. He was united in marriage on August 20, 1934, with Mary Ann Duffy at Scranton. Lawrence was employed in the agronomy department at the University of Illinois from 1925 until 1967. After he retired in 1967 he received a special assignment as coordinator of foreign visitors for the agronomy department from 1967 until 1975. He was a member of the American Society of Agronomy, the American Association of Retired Persons, a life member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association, a member of the University of Illinois Agriculture Alumni Association, Alpha Zeta Honorary, and Gamma Sigma Delta Honorary. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign, Illinois, and served in the U S Army during World War I. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Mary, who remains in their home at 1108 West Daniel, Champaign, Illinois 61821; sons, John D. Miller of Clarence, New York William J. Miller of Mesa, Arizona, and a daughter, Katie Shands of Moorhead, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and sisters Gertrude Miller, Champaign, and Rachel Bowman, Orlando, Florida.
