Lueck, 75, of New Vienna, will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Edward E. Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7736 of New Vienna and the Scherrman Peterson American Legion Post 656 of Farley. Friends may call after 2 pm today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where the parish scripture service will be said at 4 pm and the Veterans of Foreign Wars rites will be at 7:30 pm. Mr. Lueck was a heavy equipment operator for the Dubuque Highway Commission for 30 years before his retirement in September 1978. He was born on Sept. 10, 1916, in New Vienna, son of Anton and Elizabeth (Kramer) Lueck. He died Saturday, July 11, 1992, at Mercy Health Center St. Mary's Unit, Dyersville. He married Henrietta "Hattie" Scherbring on Nov. 27, 1947, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna; she survives. He served in the Army from May 10, 1941, to May 30, 1945, and spent time in Ireland, England, North Africa and Italy. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Public Employees Retirement System, Sherrman Peterson American Legion Post 656, Tri-County Sportsmen Association and New Vienna Historical Society; a life member of the Red Bull 34th Infantry Division, Association of Iowa and the Dyersville Sportsmen Association; and a charter member of the Edward W. Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7736 of New Vienna, where he served as post commander and trustee. He also was a charter member of the New Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, a former member of the General Drivers Union Local 421 and was a New Vienna councilman for 10 years. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn (and Mike) Noel of Dubuque; a son, Steve (and Cathy) of Dyersville; four grandchildren; four sisters, Tillie Lueck and Agnes (and Allie) Lansing, both of New Vienna, Clara Koelker of Dyersville and Sister Helen Esther Lueck of St. Joseph Villa, LaCrosse, Wis.
