Description	:	Lawrence Caulder, 88, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, Decemcber 17, 2017 at his residence after a hospital stay since mid-November. On beautiful Sunday morning, he transitioned to his eternal resting place with his dearly beloved niece at his side reading Psalm 23, reciting The Lord’s Prayer and assuring him he was loved. Read More	Lawrence Caulder, 88, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, Decemcber 17, 2017 at his residence after a hospital stay since mid-November. On beautiful Sunday morning, he transitioned to his eternal resting place with his dearly beloved niece at his side reading Psalm 23, reciting The Lord’s Prayer and assuring him he was loved. His testimony to her, a special friend and others was he was prepared and ready to meet His God. He was a member and former Deacon of Bloomingvale Baptist Church many years ago. Mr. Caulder was born the son of Lewis C. Caulder and Mary Alice Pipkin Caulder on December 21, 1929 in Williamsburg County. He was a United Statues Marine and a veteran of the Korean War. He was an employee of International Paper at the Georgetown Mill before entering the Marines and returned to work there when he returned home after the war. He retired from IP after 42 years of service. He lived alone and somewhat cared for himself with the assistance of a family member until November when scar tissue from surgery done out on the field in Korea cause internal problems that led to serious health issues and subsequent death. Most folks have cats and dogs for pets. His pets were two beautiful peacocks that he loved and cared for faithfully. Several great nephews assisted him during his last days. One cares for his peacocks and safeguards his home during this journey. Another with Hospice of Roper assisted in his medical care. Still another from out of town and here for the weekend helped prepare things at his house for his return home before his passing. He was predeceased by: his parents; his twin sister, Florence Caulder Smith, and a older sister, Edwina Caulder Price. In keeping with his wishes, Memorial Services will be private. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Caulder family.While undergoing test in the Veterans Hospital, a medical team determined his raspy voice was from a throat problem most like connected to the other problems. Co-workers and friends called him “Squeaky”. To his family, he was Uncle Buck.
