Lawrence Casper is another Plymouth county youth who has laid down his life while in the service of his country. He fell a victim of influenza while in training camp at Ames, dying on Sunday. His father, Peter Casper, of Hinton, and his brothers and sisters were notified of his sickness and went to Ames and were with him during his last illness. Lawrence Casper was inducted into service for special training on July 14, and went to enter a training camp at Ames. He was born on his father's farm in Lincoln township and attended school there and worked on the farm. He is mourned by his father and two sisters who are Mrs Ella Blankenberg, Mrs Carl Muecke, and two brothers, George and Edward. Lawrence Casper was a popular young man in the community where he was reared and lived. He was twenty-one years of age. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the house in Lincoln township and the interment made in the Lincoln township Lutheran cemetery. Brief services were held at the Lincoln township cemetery where the interment was made. Lawrence Casper died from influenza at a training camp at Ames.
