Lawrence was born in Redkey, IN on Feb. 21, 1951, a son of the late Velma (Reece) and Kenneth Claycomb. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bedford. Lawrence was born in Redkey, IN on Feb. 21, 1951, a son of the late Velma (Reece) and Kenneth Claycomb. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bedford. He worked as a farmer and also was a warehouser for the Crane Naval Base. He graduated from Lincoln Tech and was a 1969 graduate of Redkey High School. He was the husband of Diane Claycomb, who he married Aug. 7, 2004. Lawrence is survived by two daughters, Charity D., wife of Jeff St. John, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Wendy M., wife of Jeff Roden, of Van Buren, AK; two sons, Matthew D., husband of Tonya Claycomb, of Pennville, IN and Damion M. Claycomb, of Salisbury, NC; a stepdaughter, Trina, wife of Russell Nickerson, of Springville,; four stepsons James Johnson, of Anderson, IN; Josh, husband of Alicia Johnson, of Bedford; Brian Johnson, of Bedford, and Tony Johnson of Bedford. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren. Lawrence is also survived by two brothers, Lloyd, husband of Sharon Claycomb, of Muncie, IN, and Richard, husband of Terri Claycomb, of Hartford City, IN. Visitation was Monday at MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel. Funeral service was 4 p.m. Monday at MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel, Redkey. Graveside service followed in Claycomb Cemetery, Redkey. A memorial service will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Springville at 6 p.m. today. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel and Brocksmith Funeral Home in Loogootee.
