Washington, Fertile, with Reverend Dave Halvorsen officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, May 18 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, IA and one hour prior to the service at the church. Larry was born January 29, 1921 in Rockfalls, IA, the son of William and Gladys (Morse) Tibbits. He was one of 15 children. He grew up in the Rockfalls and Clear Lake areas. He attended Rockfalls Schools. Larry married Frances Skalicky November 11, 1946 in Mason City. Larry was known to be a workaholic by family and friends. Besides farming, he worked at the Hanlontown Elevator, the Clear Lake Elevator and in the early years the Sugar Beet Plant and Marigold Dairy. His other involvements were being on the board of the Fertile Creamery, and the Hanlontown Co-op Elevator. He was a 4-H leader. Larry loved flowers, reading and going to auctions. In retirement he enjoyed his group at the Backyard Deli "Members of the Hearing Impaired group". Larry was a member of the Fertile Lutheran Church. Larry is survived by his wife Frances Tibbits, Clear Lake, IA; three children Nancy (Mike) Cash, Ventura, IA, Judy (Jim) Levad, Forest City, IA and Tim (Candy) Tibbits, New Virginia, IA; grandchildren Todd (Jennifer) Cash, Ryan (Shana) Cash, Megan Levad, Jason Tibbits, Logan Tibbits and Tyler (Elena) Levad; great-grandchildren Katie Cash and fiancé Dan Behr, Madalynn Cash, Garett Cash and Sofia Levad; brothers and sisters Betty Lane, Manly, IA, June Frederickson, Mason City, IA, Phyllis Gericke, Cedar Falls, IA, Clarice "Tootie" (Jerry) Skyles, Portland, OR, Marlys Pederson, Waukee, IA, Marlene (Jerry) Jenkins, Longmont, CO, Ed (Carol) Davies, Mason City, IA, Wally (Judy) Davies, Manly, IA and Tiny Krahenbuhl, Osage, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
