Description	:	Lawrence was born Nov. 27, 1904 in Ludlow Township, Allamakee County, to John and Lydia (Pieper) Ricker. When he was two, his mother died and he was raised by the August Stock family. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1922. Lawrence married Kathryn Wiedenmann at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on August 30, 1928. He farmed from 1922-1937, managed the feed business for P.F. Dravis from 1937-1951. From 1951 he owned and operated a feed and grocery store in Rossville and was Allamakee County auditor from 1955-1975, during which time he oversaw the switch to using voting machines...
