Description	:	Lawrence G. "Bud" Busch, 84, of Hawarden, Iowa died Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Hawarden Community Hospital. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Church in Hawarden with Rev. Rick Kargard officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion and VFW of Hawarden. "Bud" Busch was born in Hawarden, Iowa on May 13, 1925 to George and Myrtle (Anderson) Busch. In 1936 the family moved to Hudson, South Dakota where he graduated from Hudson High School in 1943. They moved back to Hawarden in 1944 and Lawrence joined the US Army, being honorably discharged in 1946. He married Neva Liston on September 4, 1949 and they made their home in Hawarden, where their two daughters were born, Becky and Sue. Bud drove trucks for Rex Truesdell and then was a hog buyer for the sale barn from 1950 to 1970. He then operated his own trucking business for a few years. He worked for Higman's Gravel in Akron from 1975 until retiring in 2004. Survivors include his wife, Neva; daughters, Becky (Brad) Warwick of Lennox, South Dakota and Sue (Mike) Van Bochove of Hawarden; grandchildren, Amy Roseland of Canton, South Dakota, Blair Brunsting and Kevin Brunsting both of Lennox; great-grandchildren, Lance Roseland and Desiree Roseland both of Canton; brothers, Robert (Gen) Busch of Tucson, Arizona and Charles Busch of Hanna, Wyoming; a special nephew, Lynn Vande Berg of Hudson and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Stuart Waterman; 2 sisters, Eileen Reindflesh and Betty Johnson; 3 nieces, Diane and Donna Johnson and Robin Kraft; and a nephew, Bruce Liston.
