"Bud" Kelley, who died June 17 following a construction accident. Mass was concelebrated with Father Adam Reisz, Father Robert Schoemann and Father Freeman. Bearers were Robert Stanislav, Eldred Reisz, Robert Weis, Donald Kenkel, Ralph Pauley and Donald Kelley. Organist was Marie Millard with vocal music by Lisa Hansen. Lawrence Joseph Kelley, the son of James U. and Anna Behrendt Kelley, was born, August 3, 1919, east of Woodbine. He was a lifetime resident of this community. On January 17, 1943, he was united in marriage to Darlene Thiles. He was an active community member, serving as Woodbine Saddle Club officer and board member in various years, Parish Council President, and was a Minister of the Eucharist. His hobby was working with horses and over the past years he sponsored and old fashioned threshing bee, which became an event for surrounding communities to enjoy. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Larry. Survivors include his wife, Darlene, and children and their families; Dwayne and David Kelley of Council Bluffs; Earl, Mary and Lisa Zeigler of Millard, Nebr.; Bob, Doris, Sheila and Shari Williams of Gretna, Nebr.; Dale, Marge, Jeremy, Joshua and Jennifer Zuern of Council Bluffs; Dave, Edna and Ryan Dobmeier presently living in Japan; and Chuck and Terri Kelley of Woodbine.
