Description	:	Lawrence (Larry) L. Laird age 80 of Clinton, Iowa went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday July 3rd at First Baptist Church, Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-6:00pm at First Baptist Church. A private family burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Larry was born on August 19, 1939, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the son of Donald G. and Rose (Ring) Laird. A private family burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Larry was born on August 19, 1939, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the son of Donald G. and Rose (Ring) Laird. He married Jean and had four children. He later married the love of his life, Elaine (Lainey) Fugate on April 23, 1977. She passed away November 21, 2014. Larry retired from Chicago Northwestern Railroad and later worked at Swiss Colony. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Clinton Police Academy Alumni. He was devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed a game of cribbage, racing stock cars, fishing on his boat, working in his garage, helping others, and riding his motorcycle. He was a Green Bay Packers fan. Larry is survived by his daughters; Betty Love of Arizona, Connie (Bob) Brashaw of Clinton; a son Larry M. Laird of Kansas; his sister, Linda (Stan) Brickson; brothers John E. and Donald G. Jr. of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Stephanie Stansbarger (Danny Hantelman), Donna Bengtson (Scott), Amanda Laird, Alexis Larios, Rob (Dee), Chad (Christina), Shawn, and Jeff (Leslie) Brashaw, many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lainey, daughters: Debbie and Linda Laird, a sister Laura L. Smith and a brother Ronald R. Laird. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Pape Funeral home will be assisting the family with arrangements.
