Description	:	Lawrence M. Castle, 72, of Burlington, brother of Ethel Cellers of lola, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington. He was bom March 11, 1926, at Burlington, the son of Albert and Bessie Kiggins Castle. He was employed as an area mechanic for Phillips Pipeline for many years. He had worked at Grenola, Hamilton and Kingfisher, Okla., retiring in 1985 and moving to Burlington. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. He had worked at Grenola, Hamilton and Kingfisher, Okla., retiring in 1985 and moving to Burlington. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Thetis Bay in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Star. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Congdon-Kepler Post No. 38 of the American Legion of Burlington. On April 17, 1948, he married Gloria Wilkie at Yates Center. She survives, as do a son, Scott, Wichita; a daughter, Annette Deckert, San Jose, Calif.; two additional sisters, Fannie Eaton, Albian, Pa., and Hazel Klotz of Emporia; three granddaughters; and three step-grandsons. Two infant daughters, Mary Kay and Dawn Elaine Castle, four brothers, Floyd, Leslie, Vernon and Dalbert Castle, and a sister, Viola Bartlett, died earlier. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Burlington. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
