Description	:	Lawrence Martin Bierman was born March 8, 1914, in rural Mansfield, S.D., to Gottlieb and Anna (Nierman) Bierman. He was the youngest of six boys. He attended Box Elder Grove School at rural Mansfield. Lawrence remained on the family farm with his parents until the fall of 1956, at which time they moved to South Grant Street in Aberdeen. Read More	Lawrence Martin Bierman was born March 8, 1914, in rural Mansfield, S.D., to Gottlieb and Anna (Nierman) Bierman. He was the youngest of six boys. He attended Box Elder Grove School at rural Mansfield. Lawrence remained on the family farm with his parents until the fall of 1956, at which time they moved to South Grant Street in Aberdeen. Lawrence enjoyed bowling, bingo and driving new Buicks. On Oct. 6, 1962, he married Mary Lou Roberts in Aberdeen. They made their home on the Mansfield farm for a while but eventually moved back to the house on Grant Street after his parents passing. Lawrence continued some farming for several years and especially enjoyed raising and caring for his Hereford cattle. He completely retired by the early '80s and spent much of his time caring for his wife and driving his new Buicks, which are now old. He surrendered his driver's license in June of 2001 and became a resident of the Aberdeen Living Center in July. He thoroughly enjoyed the friendship, meals, entertainment and comfort of the Living Center and stated many times that "you just can't find any better place than this." He had just celebrated his 90th birthday in March. He is survived by two sisters, Verda (Carl) Wiedebush of Aberdeen, S.D., and Leona Peterson of Miller, S.D.; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Bierman and Violet Bierman, both of Aberdeen, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Alvin, Henry, Victor, Iver and Clarence. Casketbearers will be his nephews, Ordean Bierman, Bob Bierman, Leland Bierman, LaVerne Bierman, Daryl Bierman, Delwin Peterson and Dennis Wiedebush. Published in the Aberdeen News on 5/10/2004.
