Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. on Friday at the Massena Funeral Chapel. He was born on September 13, 1895, on a farm near Massena, the son of Thomas and Mary (Miller) Jennings. (Pat) Jennings Dies Funeral services for Lawrence Patrick Jennings, 86, were held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Massena at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, with Fr. James Wadsworth officiating. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. on Friday at the Massena Funeral Chapel. He was born on September 13, 1895, on a farm near Massena, the son of Thomas and Mary (Miller) Jennings. (Mary passed away in 1898). Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Ed Jennings; an infant brother, Thomas Bernard, and a sister, Nellie, who lived with Pat for many years on the place where a nephew, Ed Jennings, now lives. Pat and Nellie had moved to town where she passed away in a matter of months in 1967 and where Pat remained until entering the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Corning in November 1975. He passed away at the home around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2. The nephew is the immediate survivor, son of Ed and Gladys (Anstey) Jennings. Fr. Wadsworth was most impressive with words of praise for the deceased regarding his many deeds of good and his thoughtfulness of others which was the feeling of all who knew and loved him. He also spoke of the undaunting lifetime of devotion to his faith and the church. Music at the service was by Donna Casey, organist, and Marian Amdor, vocalist. Three selections were chosen, one of which stood out, entitled “He Touched Me.” Casket bearers were Donald L. Curry, Charles (Chuck) Miller, Davis Mills, Hugh Anstey, Dick Anstey, and Leo Quinn. Honorary bearers were Jack McLaren, Joe Moore, Paul Casey, Robert Waters and Martin Sullivan. Among those who came from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jennings, Dean Jennings and son, Matthew, all of Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Gruss and Mr. and Mrs. John Novey of Greenfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ian Bissell of Corning; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jennings of Griswold and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Scanlan of Villisca.
