Description	:	Lawrence Hauf was born to William and Thora (Christiansen) Hauf on July 13, 1923 at Colome, South Dakota. He was baptized Apr. 13, 1930. He was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on June 5, 1938. Lawrence and his family moved to Orchard, Nebraska in 1932. He joined the Navy on May 20, 1944, and received an honorable discharge on May 19, 1946. On Oct. 3, 1948, Lawrence married Esther Mae Trease at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Orchard. They made their home south of Orchard. To this union three children were born, Linda, Kathy and Roger. His love and respect of the land... He was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on June 5, 1938. Lawrence and his family moved to Orchard, Nebraska in 1932. He joined the Navy on May 20, 1944, and received an honorable discharge on May 19, 1946. On Oct. 3, 1948, Lawrence married Esther Mae Trease at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Orchard. They made their home south of Orchard. To this union three children were born, Linda, Kathy and Roger. His love and respect of the land and livestock made him a very dedicated and hard working farmer and dairy man. He was a member of the American Legion Post 136 since 1944. Lawrence also had served on the Garfield Township board since 1955, receiving a plaque in recognition of over 50 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter in infancy; and siblings, Anna (Lincoln) Henry, Myra (Allrad) Mosel, Orval Hauf and Donal Hauf. Survivors include his wife, Esther, of 61 years; three children, Linda (Bob) Hixson of Howe, Texas, Kathy (Steve) Belik of Orchard, Heb., and Roger (Darla) Hauf of Clearwater, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jimmy Hauf of Collinsville, Texas and Richard Hauf of Aurora, Neb.; 2 sisters, Dorothy Miller of Escondido, Calif. and Laverna (Bob) Aughe of Norfolk, Neb.; along with many relatives and friends. *******************************
