A. Kunkel, of Le Mars, and Lawrence Nuebel, of America township, were united in marriage. The service was celebrated at 8:30 in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends with Mgr. J. D. Fisch officiating at the single ring ceremony. The bride looked charming in her wedding gown of white satin with lace trimmings. Her veil of dainty lace was fastened in her hair with a coronet. She carried a bouquet of tea roses and sweet peas. Her sister, Miss Jerry Kunkel, who was bridesmaid, wore a pretty costume of green taffeta with matching accessories and carried a bouquet of yellow carnations. Vincent Nuebel, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Following the service, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents and later in the day a three course wedding dinner was served to a large party of friends. The home was beautifully decorated in green and white, the bridal colors. Decorations in green and white were carried out in the table adornments and in the elaborate wedding cake which formed a centerpiece. Honors of serving were accorded friends of the bride, Misses Philomena Kurtzhals, Josephine Kurtzhals, Gertrude Luken, Dorothy Luken, Alvina Sitzman and Madeline Reuter. *** Le Mars Sentinel, IA, Thursday, April 9, 1992 LAWRENCE NUEBEL Lawrence T. Nuebel, 79, of Le Mars and a former longtime Remsen resident died Wednesday (April 8, 1992) at Sioux City Marion Health Center after an extended illness. Mr. Nuebel was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus (honorary life member) and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three daughters, Meredith Reuter and her husband, Ron, of Marcus, Betty Moeller and her husband, Jerry, of Spencer, and Lois Fisch and her husband, Jim, of Burlington; two sons, Randy and his wife, Candy, of Spencer, and Tom and his wife, Rita, of Remsen; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Vince Nuebel, of Le Mars; five sisters, Mrs. Leona Sitzmann, Mrs. Rosella Sitzmann, Mrs. Vivian Sitzmann, Mrs. Ed (Aggie) Sitzmann, all of Le Mars, and Mrs. Gene (Dorothy) Crooks of Garden Grove, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leo Nuebel, and a sister, Mrs. Mary (Harpenau) Bohlke. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Nuebel's name with the Marion Health Center Dialysis Unit at Sioux City. Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars with Rev. Dale J. George officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars which is in charge of arrangements. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. and a combined Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Nuebel was born Dec. 10, 1912, in Le Mars to Frank and Josephine (Meis) Nuebel. He was raised and educated in Le Mars where he attended St. Joseph's Catholic School. After his marriage to Mildren Kunkel on Jan. 29, 1935, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Le Mars, the couple farmed south-east of Le Mars for several years. They then farmed east of Remsen for more than 30 years before retiring and moving into Remsen in 1972. They were longtime members of St. Mary's Parish at Remsen. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., combined rosary by the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters at 8 p.m., at Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.
