Lawrence was born on September 25, 1920 at Summerfield, KS, to Roy E. and Ida L. (Ringen) Robeson. He graduated from Summerfield High School in 1938. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Naval Aviator. He was honorably discharged from active duty and returned to the farm. Lawrence was active in the Navy reserves for 17 years. Read More	Lawrence William Robeson, 93, of Summerfield, KS, died June 17, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville, KS. Lawrence was born on September 25, 1920 at Summerfield, KS, to Roy E. and Ida L. (Ringen) Robeson. He graduated from Summerfield High School in 1938. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Naval Aviator. He was honorably discharged from active duty and returned to the farm. Lawrence was active in the Navy reserves for 17 years. On May 1, 1946, he was united in marriage to Nelva Graham in Manhattan, KS. He enjoyed his grandchildren, farming, reading western novels, and military history back to the Civil War. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nelva, in 1998; and infant son, Richard D. Robeson. Survivors include his son, Stephen R. (Julie) Robeson, Summerfield; daughter, JoLynne (Steven) Voet, Oketo, KS; brother, Dale "Tinker" Robeson, Marysville; sister, Willa (Korky) Erickson, Olsburg, KS; brother-in-law, Maurice "Bud" (Shirley) Graham, Beatrice, NE; sister-in-law, Wilma Naaf, Beatrice, NE; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Cauitta Robeson, David Robeson and friend Amy Epp, Jeffrey and Beckie Robeson, Travis and Jordan Robeson, Jared Robeson, April and Joel Calovich, Jeremiah Schwarz, Jessica Schwarz and fiancé, Sylvester Koch; one step-grandson; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and ten nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, at the Mission Creek Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
