Read More	The Davenport Democrat and Leader (Davenport, Iowa), July 5, 1928: MARSH AVIATOR LAID TO REST Layton Green, 22, Victim of Meningitis Morning Sun, Ia, July 5 -- Layton Green, 22 year old U.S. aviator, born near Marsh, who died Sunday in the hospital at Camp Mitchell, was buried in Elmwood cemetery here this afternoon, by the side of his mother and brother. Services were held in the Methodist church and the American Legion accorded the young man final military honors. Green was the son of E. E. Green, now a resident of Floyd, Iowa, and the body was taken to the home of his grandparents, Mr and Mrs Sam Patterson here. After a four year course in aviation he had been stationed at Chanute field, where he was taking special work. Six weeks ago he was stricken with meningitis. Besides the father, a brother, Bert, of Floyd; his grandparents and other relatives in this community survive.
