Mr. George was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Sioux City, the son of Herbert J. and Edna J. (Joseph) George. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years during the Vietnam War. He married Marian Anderson on Sept. 17, 1976 in Sioux City. He was employed as a bus driver with Sioux City Transit System for 32 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and enjoyed cars and cigars. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Megan of Sioux City; a son, Joseph George of Sioux City; a grandson, Kenneth; two aunts and cousins. Pallbearers will be Jim Marshall, Roger Jeffers, Mike Tokarczyk, Rick Coury, Jim Abdo, Michael Hanna, Jerry Abdo, Brandon Kasdorf and Jim Coury. Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
