Lea Ann daughter of Frederick and Marjorie (Clark) Barnhard, was born December 13, 1953 in Albion, NE. Read More	Lea Ann Wells, of Albion, NE., passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Lea Ann daughter of Frederick and Marjorie (Clark) Barnhard, was born December 13, 1953 in Albion, NE. Lea Ann was baptized in The First Baptist Church as a child and joined St. Michael's Catholic Church in 1980. She attended grade school at District 13 and graduated from Albion High School in 1972. Following graduation, she went to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, completing her education at the Methodist School of Nursing with a Registered Nursing diploma in 1976. On April 26, 1980, Lea Ann was united in marriage to John "Jack" Wells at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion, Nebraska. They made their home in Albion where they raised their seven children: Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Mary, Thomas, Ryan, Emily and Sara. Lea Ann worked at the Albion hospital from 1976 -1981, Albion Schools as school nurse from 1981 - 1989 and the Lutheran/Faith Regional Hospital from 1989 - 2004, the Wolf Home in Albion from 1997 - 2003, and was the Home Health Director at the Boone County Health Center from 2003 until she passed away. As her children grew so did her range of involvement in the community. She was heavily involved in all her children's activities and sports at Albion/Boone Central Schools, from cheering at a ball game to making sure everyone had enough to eat at sports dinners or snacks during activities. She was a 4-H leader in the 90's, taught junior and senior CYO for 13 years and was a part of a church choir her entire life, music was a part of her everyday life. Even after her children's graduation she continued her avid support of all community activities. Her enthusiasm for improving the community was endless, the theater project when her children were in high school and recently the new swimming pool campaign were of great importance. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, cook, and caregiver. As we all know, her door was always open and her refrigerator full. Lea Ann was a friend to all and knew the importance of a listening ear. She enjoyed all aspects of life, even through her most difficult times with her cancer she wanted to know how you were before she would tell you what was going on with her. She continued to remind us to her last day that God has a plan and that everything would be alright. Her legacy will live on not only in her children and grandchild but her friends and the community that were so important to her. Lea Ann is survived by her husband Jack Wells; children: Elizabeth (Peter) Hansen of Omaha, NE; Jacqueline Wells of Jacksonville, FL; Mary Wells of Omaha, NE; Thomas, Ryan (SCC College), Emily (WSC College), and Sara Wells (WSC College), all of Albion, NE; granddaughter: Catherine Hansen; siblings: Dora (Darrell) Hadley of Albion, NE; John (Karen) Barnhard of Lincoln, NE; and Fred (Cyndee) Barnhard of Omaha, NE; and her aunt, Ruth (Clark) Kendrick of Loretto, NE. and a host of relatives and friends. Lea Ann was preceded in death by parents and grandparents. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, NE.
