Leah Grace White, daughter of William Henry and Lucy Jane Lybarger Harrison, was born July 8, 1924, in Osceola, Neb. and died May 25, 2001, at the Metropolitan Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 76. She was educated in the schools of Osceola, Neb. and married Kent White on Dec. 19, 1945, in Lincoln, Neb. The couple became the parents of four children. Leah Grace White, daughter of William Henry and Lucy Jane Lybarger Harrison, was born July 8, 1924, in Osceola, Neb. and died May 25, 2001, at the Metropolitan Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 76. She was educated in the schools of Osceola, Neb. and married Kent White on Dec. 19, 1945, in Lincoln, Neb. The couple became the parents of four children. Before she married, she worked as a telephone operator. They moved to Woodburn in 1947, and she was a mother and homemaker and helped outside on the farm whenever she was needed. All of Mr. and Mrs. Whites' children lived and raised their families within 1-1/2 miles of the home place. Mrs. White was a member of the Woodburn Eastern Star, the Woodburn American Legion Auxiliary, the Woodburn Hospital Auxiliary, the Democratic Women's Club and the Iowa Farmers Union. She attended church at Bethel Chapel in rural Clarke County. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Jack Harrison and a sister, Wilma Jane Quick and her husband, Jerry Quick. Mrs. White is survived by her husband, Kent White of Woodburn; two daughters, Connie Marker and her husband, Richard Marker, of Osceola and Cindy Henry and her husband, Denny Henry, of Woodburn; two sons, Ed White and his wife, Janice White and Dan White and his wife, Kim White, all of Osceola; 11 grandchildren, Lorie Ann Cobb, Lucy Jane Fenton and her husband, Stacy Fenton, Ryan Edward White and Bobbie Mikesell and daughter, Kirsten, Angela Marie White, Donald Kent White, Thomas Kent White and Matthew Raymond White, all of Osceola; Leah Darlene Henry, Samantha Jean Henry and Grant Walker Henry, all of Woodburn and Melissa Donahoo and her husband, Robby Donahoo, of Moore, Okla.;six great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were May 29 at Kale Funeral home in Osceola, the Rev. Gearold McElwee of Indianola officiating. Pennie Gonseth, organist, accompanied Emil Rinderspacher as he sang Amazing Grace and In the Garden. Casket bearers were Jim Barber, Kenneth Henry, Ron Henry, Dennis Loghry, Larry Carson, Terry Bear, Harley Pippin and Glen Kent. Interment was in Bethel Chapel Cemetery in Clarke County. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodburn Eastern Star or Woodburn American Legion Auxiliary.
