Becker, 81, of Billings, passed away very unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at her home. She was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Billings, MT., the daughter of John and Katherine Hofferber Kaufman. She attended Pioneer School. Following her marriage to Henry Becker in Dec. 10, 1939, they lived in Ballantine until 1945, when they moved to Billings. She worked for the Mark Stevens Grocery and Midwest Cabinet, where she retired in 1982 after 30 years of employment. At the time of her death, Leah was still selling Avon after 30 years. She loved crocheting, baking, her family and traveling. She has been a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church all her life. She was a member of the friendly Circle, a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the choir. She is survived by her daughter Carol (Howard) Hintt; two sons, Jim (Norma) Becker, and Gary (Connie) Becker, all of Billings; grandchildren, Kevin (Martha) Hintt, Kelly (Julie) Hintt, Jason (Julie) Becker, Justin (Shawna) Becker, D.J. Becker and Jocelyn Becker; great grandchildren, Makenzie and Conner Hintt, Andrew Jarret, and Austin Becker. Leah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers John, Conrad, Fred, Dan, Harold, Art and Ryanalt Kaufman; sister Esther. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Pilgrim Congregational Church. Interment will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery, Ballantine, MT. Memorials may be made to the Pilgrim Congregational Church or the charity of choice.
