Description	:	Leah Merle Swank, the daughter of Charles and Emma Swank, was born at Barnard, Kansas, December 21, 1898, and departed this life October 13, 1941, having attained the age of 42 years, 9 months and 22 days. When she had completed grammar school and three years of high school, the family moved to Hill City, Kansas, where she continued her schooling, graduating from high school and thereupon from business college at Concordia, Kansas. Read More	Leah Merle Swank, the daughter of Charles and Emma Swank, was born at Barnard, Kansas, December 21, 1898, and departed this life October 13, 1941, having attained the age of 42 years, 9 months and 22 days. When she had completed grammar school and three years of high school, the family moved to Hill City, Kansas, where she continued her schooling, graduating from high school and thereupon from business college at Concordia, Kansas. She then taught in the public schools of Kansas for eight years. May 18, 1927, she was united in marriage to Carl Striggow. To this union five children were born, one of whom died in infancy. During the first four years of their married life, Mr. and Mrs. Striggow, lived south of Fairmont, and since 1931, they have continuously lived in Exeter. Mrs. Striggow was a devoted wife and mother, a kind and helpful friend and neighbor. Those surviving are her husband; four children, Eugene, Virginia Lee, Margaret and Marjorie; her mother, Mrs. Charles Swank of Hill City, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Fred Zohner of Hill City; two brothers, Milton Swank of Hill City, and Gilbert Swank of Crawford, Colorado. Besides these, there are many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her early departure. Services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J.A. Klein in charge. Rev. Samuel Beechner spoke words of comfort to the bereaved family and friends. Mrs. Mabel Manning, Mrs. Herbert Howarth, J.D. Rogers and T.D. Clarke provided the special music.
