Leava Georgette Kropinske was born at Consort, Alberta on March 13, 1928. She was the daughter of George and Ethel Kropinske. After completing school in Consort and working in the area she moved on to Olds to attend Olds Agricultural School. Upon finishing her studies in Home Economics she worked in the college kitchen as a pastry chef. While there she met Bill Stanton of Wimborne. On December 27, 1958 the two were wed at Knox United Church in Consort. After a honeymoon in the States they resided at Wimborne on the Stanton farm. It was here that together they raised four children. Leava was active in many facets of the community including the handicraft club, the United Church, the square dance club, and was ready and willing to help whenever called upon.
