Conley born Aug 21, 1889 died Mar. 27, 1896 Wyoming Journal, 2 April 1896, Page 4: Last Friday night about midnight the house occupied by Orlando Conaly situated east of the church on north line of the township caught fire. Mr Conaly and wife slept down stairs and the children, some seven in number, slept upstairs. The oldest boy at home discovered the fire and ran down stairs where he discovered the floor near the foot of the stairs on fire and came near falling through into the cellar. He escaped, however, and awoke his parents then ran out doors and got a ladder and placed up to a second story window, in order that the children might escape. Mr Conaly had in the mean while got upstairs and helped the children out of the window, finding all but a little six year old boy whose voice they had heard but whom they lost sight of and failed to rescue. It was evident that he had, on awakening, run down stairs and fell through into the cellar. Saturday morning the work of clearing the cellar was begun and by noon the body, or rather trunk, of the little fellow was found at the south end of the cellar under a window where he had run hoping for air and escape when he found himself under the house. His lower limbs and arms were burned off and his flesh nearly burned away from the bones. The stricken family have the heartfelt sympathy of all good people. All the household effects were burned. The house was one of the very old ones of the township, built for ?? many years ago. George Gilbert Sr. once owned the farm. It is now owned by Samuel Conaly of Onslow.
