Hirtle - Mahone Bay, Jan 3 - Mrs Alexander Hirtle of Oakland passed away on Thursday, Dec 29th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs Harry Young, Martin's Brook, where she had made her home for the past two years. She was 81 years of age. Mrs Hirtle was before her marriage Leila Adel Westhaver, daughter of Isaiah and Priscilla Westhaver of Mader's Cove. She had been in poor health for some time and several months ago sustained a fractured hip from which she failed to recover. She was 81 years of age. Mrs Hirtle was before her marriage Leila Adel Westhaver, daughter of Isaiah and Priscilla Westhaver of Mader's Cove. She had been in poor health for some time and several months ago sustained a fractured hip from which she failed to recover. Surviving relatives include six daughters and three sons; Mrs West Keddy (Lottie), Mrs Walter Lynch (Olive), Mrs William MacKenzie (Carrie), all of Belmont, Mass; Mrs Leroy Langille (Clarice) and Mrs ?? Keddy (Althea), both of Mahone Bay; and Mrs Young (Audrey) of Martin's Brook; Alan of West Bridgewater, Alex of Mahone Bay, and Russell of Martin's Brook; a brother Henry Westhaver of Mader's Cove; 31 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her in 1937; a son Ronald was accidentally killed in Cambridge, Mass, six years ago; and another som Earle died in infancy. Mrs Hirtle was a member of Trinity United Church. The funeral service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs Langille, Mahone Bay, on Saturday afternoon and was conducted by her pastor, the Rev J Parker Matheson. Pallbearers were Gordon and Arthur Lantz, Wallace T Ernst and Charles Langille, all of Oakland. Interment was in Park cemetery, Mahone Bay.
