Her Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 26 at 2 p.m. at the Federated Church at Mitchell with Dr. Charles H. Richardson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Mitchell City Cemetery. Jones Mortuary of Mitchell is in charge of arrangements. Leila was born Feb. 22, 1917, northwest of Mitchell, the daughter ofWilbur and Anna (Havlik) Garlow. She attended Fairview Dist #34 School and graduated with the Class of 1935 from Mitchell High School. She was united in marriage to Harley Elder, Dec. 1, 1942, at Torrington. Lelia began working for the Houserman's and Clay Drug Store at Torrington. After they moved back to Mitchell, she was a bookkepper for the Ledingham and Simpson Potato Seller and later at the Jim Denny Potato Seller. She later worked for the Ayars Drug Store and then Blair's Drug Store as clerk for 20 years. She was a member of the Federated Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Leila is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Kim and Betsy of Paxton, grandsons: Andrew Elder of Lincoln, Matthew Elder of Paxton, granddaughter: Katie elder of Paxton and sister Ruth Parker of Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Clarence Garlow.
