Description	:	Lela Blondell Greene Medlin Lane, 95, of Indian Trail, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2019. She was born in Union County on July 6, 1923, daughter of the late Lonnie Wilson and Jane Hinson Greene and was one of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Blair Medlin and Cam Lane; a daughter Donna Medlin; a son Tony Medlin and by brothers Wriston, Walter, L.W. Read More	Lela Blondell Greene Medlin Lane, 95, of Indian Trail, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2019. She was born in Union County on July 6, 1923, daughter of the late Lonnie Wilson and Jane Hinson Greene and was one of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Blair Medlin and Cam Lane; a daughter Donna Medlin; a son Tony Medlin and by brothers Wriston, Walter, L.W. Jr. (Dub), Charles and Bob; sisters Polly Mullis, Myrtle Hartwell, and Jessie Goodman. Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Philemon and husband Danny; daughter in law Darlene and husband Jeff; grandchildren Kevin Philemon (Addie), Kristy Kirkpatrick (T.J.), Laura Childers (Zac), Amanda Medlin; great grandchildren Lela Philemon, Kyle Philemon , Coy Kirkpatrick, Brecklyn Kirkpatrick, Allyson Childers, Ryan Childers; sister Edith Simpson; brother Nat Greene and wife Dot; sisters in law Doris Greene and Peggy Greene. Also special friends Donna Timberman and Dean Efird and a host of nieces and nephews. She retired from the Union County School System (Fairview Elementary School). She always loved visiting with and cooking for her family. Her favorite hobby was working with her flowers, especially her roses, and always had something blooming in her yard year round. She loved to share vegetables from her garden and continued to take care of her flowers and vegetable gardens as she turned 95. For many years she was a bingo caller for senior citizens groups in Weddington, Matthews and Indian Trail and made many bingo friends. She was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice nurse, Tara; Hospice chaplain, Jeremy and Hospice CNA, Mandy and the staff at Pruitt Health. A visitation will be held Wednesday March 20, 2019 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church from 6-8 P.M. with service at the church Thursday March 21, 2019 at 11 A.M In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or Bethlehem Presbyterian Church Backpack Ministry, 7608 Concord Hwy., Monroe, NC 28110.
