She was born October 16, 1930 to her parents, the late Walter and Ella Adcock . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Cantrell, Jr., in April 2008; son Rickey Lynn Cantrell; sister, Marie West. Ms. Maureen was a member of Mt. Hope The Baptist Church and she was a Homemaker. She is survived by sons; Lonnie Cantrell of Smithville, and Ronnie (Elaine) Cantrell of Smithville; grandchildren, Brent (Melissa) Cantrell of Cookeville, Barry (Bethany) Cantrell of McMinnville; step-grandson, Taylor Miller of McMinnville; great-grandchildren, Evie, Graham, and Ollie Cantrell; step great-grandson, Jackson Greer. Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday February 16, 2022 at 1:00PM at New Union Cemetery with Bro. Dwight Knowles officiating. There will not be any visitation or services held at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the members of Avalon Hospice who were so kind and thoughtful in the loving care of our Mother, especially, Rachel, Nancey, Ashlyn, Tina, and Bobby Sue. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
