She was born on March 12, 1916 on a farm near Waco, Nebraska and graduated from Waco High School. She lived in York and Fairbury before moving to Beatrice in 1947. Watson, 89 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska died at the Parkview Care Center in Beatrice on Monday afternoon, January 9, 2006. She was born on March 12, 1916 on a farm near Waco, Nebraska and graduated from Waco High School. She lived in York and Fairbury before moving to Beatrice in 1947. She was employed at Lincoln Telephone in Beatrice where she was the chief operator for 37 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Beatrice, Nebraska, had been an active member in the Christian Women’s Fellowship where she had served as president and had been a member of Circle #3 of the church. She was also a past member and past president of the Business Women’s Sorority, a past member of the Federated Women’s Club, Beatrice Eagles Auxiliary and Deed A Day Extension Club all of Beatrice. She enjoyed flowers. Survivors include three brothers, Gilbert Watson and his wife Marjorie of York, Nebraska, Atwood Watson and his wife Arlene of Lincoln, Nebraska and Elwood Watson and his wife Naomi of Kimball, Nebraska. Seven nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. Special friends, Victor and Alvera Bade of Beatrice, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents Amzi and Bessie Grass Watson and one brother Wayne Watson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the First Christian Church of Beatrice, Nebraska with Rev. David A. Bigley officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday in the Waco Cemetery of Waco, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday in the church parlor. A memorial has been established to youth projects of the First Christian Church with Carol Arpke in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska until 9:00 P.M. Friday evening and then on Saturday at the church one hour preceding the services. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net.
