Leland was born on January 12, 1933 to Edgar and Myrtle (Mann) Jacobsen in Wood Lake, Nebraska and grew up in Minden, Nebraska and attended Minden High School. He joined the US Army Infantry where he served two terms and was deployed to Germany, Japan, and Korea. He was discharged from the army in 1959. Read More	Leland passed away on September 26, 2021 in Auburn California. Leland was born on January 12, 1933 to Edgar and Myrtle (Mann) Jacobsen in Wood Lake, Nebraska and grew up in Minden, Nebraska and attended Minden High School. He joined the US Army Infantry where he served two terms and was deployed to Germany, Japan, and Korea. He was discharged from the army in 1959. He lived in Houston, Texas when he got out of the army. He worked at AO Smith Manufacturing and Auto Engine Rebuild Company. In November of 1960, he went to southern California and South Gate is where he lived. Lee met Lois Annette Yates and they were united in marriage on December 19, 1964. Lee worked as a maintenance mechanic at Manor Plastics until his retirement in 1990. Lee had a model airplane hobby. He flew radio control model airplanes. Later he built display model airplanes. His family have donated many of his airplanes to Auburn Airport where the planes have been sold. The money from this has been used to educate future pilots. Those left to cherish is memory are his wife Annette of 57 years, son Dennis, and daughters, Donna, Kathy, and Kim. Also, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His brothers, Rollie of Norman, Chuck of Minden, and Dale of Arizona. His sisters Joyce Peterson of Kearney, and Terrie Gould and Sandy Danielson both of Minden, and many, many other relatives and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Pete, Kenny, and Bob, sisters Linda, Harriet Ann (Samson) and Harriet Anne (infant). Lee's final resting place will be in the Norman Cemetery in Norman, Nebraska where he will be among other family members.
