Description	:	Mr. Leland Cambier, age 77, of Alton, passed away on Saturday, November 17, at the Orange City Area Health System Long Term Care Facility. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, November 21, at 2:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. G. I. Williamson will officiate. Interment will follow at the Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton. Visitation will be after 2:00pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, at the funeral home. Leland Lorne was born on December 12, 1929, in Orange City, the son of Clinton and Frances (Noteboom) Cambier. He was rasied at Alton, where he graduated from the public high school. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. On December 12, 1951, he married Pearl Ahrendsen in Le Mars. They made their home in Alton, where "Lee" was the owner and operator of the liquor store. He was a member of the Floyd American Legion Post in Alton, and he enjoyed motorcycles. Survivors include his wife of almost 56 years; three children, Larry Cambier, and his wife, Nancy, of Custer, South Dakota; Wanda, and her husband, Eric Highberger, of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Steve Cambier, of Alton; two grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Troy Dolan and Brent and Erin Cambier, all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; three step-grandchildren, Lynn Badger, Stacey Francois, and Tony Kelley, all of Austin, Texas; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Eleanor Cambier, of Palm Bay, Florida; and Roger and Judy Cambier, of Alton; and nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Raymond and Virginia "Ginger" Cambier, and a niece, Debra Cambier. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials, which will be directed to the Alton Veterans Memorial.
