Read More	SMITH FUNERAL HOME - obituary Leland Randolph Jackson December 24, 1939 - October 18, 2014 It is great sadness that the family of Leland (Lee) Randolph Jackson announce his passing in Brooks, on Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at the age of 74 years. He was born in Swan River, Manitoba on December 24th, 1939 to Margaret and Wilbur Jackson. Lee and Marilyn were high school sweethearts who were married on May 23, 1960. They lived in various parts of Ontario and Manitoba before settling in Wawota, Saskatchewan, where he had purchased his first lumberyard. The family lived there for 12 years before relocating and settling in Brooks, Alberta in 1980. It was in Brooks where Lee began his very successful career in the insurance industry, until he retired at age 65. During that time and after, he was heavily involved in various community organizations including the Rotary Club of Brooks, where Lee was a founding member, the Brooks Chamber of Commerce and the Brooks Golf Club, where he was President for a number of years. When Lee wasn’t spending quality time with his family he loved to camp and fish. Lee also played the banjo and was an avid golfer and pool player. He was well respected by community and family, for his strong values, sense of humor and generosity. Lee will be greatly missed by all. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Lloyd and his wife Dorothy and their son Kelly. Lee will be greatly missed by his wife Marilyn; their children Blaine and his wife Wendy, Ardith and her husband Gordon, Sean and his wife Diana and Todd and his wife Irena; Lee and Marilyn’s grandchildren Christy, Carly, Kelsey, Kyra, Matthew, Justus, Emily and Liam and Lee’s sister Lois Erickson and her husband Con. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24th at 2:00 PM from the Brooks United Church. Rev. Kathleen Jones officiating.
