Born Aug. 12, 1919, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of Frank Anthony and Cecelia Gelsinger Miller. Mrs. Alexander had lived in Monticello since 1960, coming from Winamac. She was co-owner of Miller's Stores in Monticello and Winamac for more than 50 years, retiring in 1989. She also was co-owner of Alex's Apparel in Monticello. She had spent her winters in Sarasota for the past four years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Sodality in Monticello, the Business and Professional Womens Club and Daughters of Isabell in Winamac. Surviving are one son, Gerald A. "Jerry", Monticello; three brothers, Ralph F. Miller, Monticello, and Adrain P. Miller and Harry E. Miller, both of Winamac; two sisters, Irene VanSensus, Highland, and Alice Sue James, Lake Village; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Two sisters preceded in death. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, where the rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Pulaski South Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to White County Memorial Hospital.
