A native of Polk County, he was the widower of Bonnie Jean (Thorne) Cole and the son of the late Lemuel Burton "L.B. Cole, Sr. and Jennie Agnes (Metcalf) Cole. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. A native of Polk County, he was the widower of Bonnie Jean (Thorne) Cole and the son of the late Lemuel Burton "L.B. Cole, Sr. and Jennie Agnes (Metcalf) Cole. Survivors include three daughters, Emma Jean Kress of Cowpens, Susan Cole of Lake Bowen and Teresa Cole of Mayo; two sons, Michael Cole of Cowpens and Ronald Cole of Spartanburg; two sisters, Janelle Hill of Forest City, NC, Patsy Strother of Tryon, NC; three brothers, Blayne Cole of Cowpens, Cleveland Cole of Chesnee and Bobby Cole of Chesnee; four grandchildren, Rusty Cole of Woodruff, Leslee Cole of Chesnee, Brandy Searcy of Cowpens, Tina Harris of Mayo; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Moore, Jason Moore, both of Cowpens and Madison Cole of Woodruff. He was predeceased by four brothers, Newton Cole, James Cole, Billy Cole and Claude Cole; one sister, Cumi Turner; and by one granddaughter, Mindy Lynn Cole. The family received friends from 6:00-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Eggers Funeral Chapel of Chesnee with the Rev. Allen Blanton officiating. Burial followed in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Chad Smith, Jimmy Price, Jonathan Blackwell, David Blackwell, Jeff Turner, Derek Atkins, Jeff Blackwell, and Scott Wood.
