Description	:	Lemuel H. Henry, Sr. of Bonaparte died at the Jefferson county hospital at Fairfield July 22, 1932, at 7:00 a.m. after a brief illness. His age was 82 years, 6 months and 27 days. Mr. Henry was a son of Thomas and Hannah Chaney Henry and was born at Cadiz, Ohio, Dec. 25, 1849. Henry, Sr. of Bonaparte died at the Jefferson county hospital at Fairfield July 22, 1932, at 7:00 a.m. after a brief illness. His age was 82 years, 6 months and 27 days. Mr. Henry was a son of Thomas and Hannah Chaney Henry and was born at Cadiz, Ohio, Dec. 25, 1849. His parents moved to a farm in Harrisburg township, near Bonaparte while Mr. Henry was yet in infancy. Here he spent his boyhood days and attained his education. He chose farming for his life's vocation and after his marriage he moved to a farm in the southeastern part of Harrisburg township, where he spent the most active days of his life. Retiring from the farm 17 years ago, he moved to Bonaparte, where he was residing at the time of his death. The marriage of Mr. Henry to Miss Mary Sturdivant of Harrisburg took place March 25, 1875. To this union were born three sons and four daughters, all living except the youngest daughter, who preceded him in death while she was yet in infancy. Surviving are two brothers, Wm. Of West Plains, Mo., and Alfred of Creston, Iowa; sons, Lemuel, Jr. and Claude of Bonaparte, and Robert of Helena, Mont.' Daughters, Mrs. Georgia Sherman and Mrs. W.D. Wilson of Bonaparte, and Mrs. M.H. DeHart of Keosauqua; four granddaughters and four grandsons; several great grandchildren and a number of relatives. Mr. Henry became a member of the Methodist church of which his father was a minister. Mt. Henry was a faithful husband and a loving father. He was of a kind and tolerant disposition and had a good word for everyone and had a host of friends. He was a patient sufferer in his brief illness of a few days, remaining conscious until the end when he slept peacefully away. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church at Bonaparte July 24, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. D. D. Flanagan, pastor of the Co-operative church, with interment at the White cemetery.
