Description	:	Lena Dethlefsen, daughter of Julius and Cecelia Clausen, was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on August 7, 1877 and died July 1 at her home south of Greenville following a lingering illness She immigrated to this country with her parents in 1885 settling in Sac County. It was there that she received her education She was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Later, since there was no Lutheran Church in Greenville, she joined the Congregational Church. In her younger years she was very active in the Ladies' Air serving a number of years as president. Read More	Lena Dethlefsen, daughter of Julius and Cecelia Clausen, was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on August 7, 1877 and died July 1 at her home south of Greenville following a lingering illness She immigrated to this country with her parents in 1885 settling in Sac County. It was there that she received her education She was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Later, since there was no Lutheran Church in Greenville, she joined the Congregational Church. In her younger years she was very active in the Ladies' Air serving a number of years as president. For many years she taught Sunday School She was married on November 2, 1899 to Peter Dethlefsen at Odebolt. To this union were born two sons, Willard of Royal and Carl of Greenville and one daughter, Cecilia of Greenville. After their marriage she and her husband lived in Cushing for two years and then moved to a farm north of Odebolt. In 1914 they moved to the farm home south of Greenville which has been her home until her death. Her husband preceded her in death, April 30, 1940 Other survivors include one brother; Peter Clausen of Omaha, Nebraska, one sister, Mrs. Arthur Hasch of Lytton, six grandchildren, Mrs. Harold Bang, Jr., of Spencer, Lieut. Merlyn Dethlefsen of Dover, Delaware, Karen, Mariette, Peter and Norma Jean Dethlefsen of Royal and two great grandchildren, Carol and Marilyn Bang of Spencer To her children it was a pleasure to care for her. In spite of her many weeks of illness she was always cheergful and uncomplaining Funeral services for Lena Dethlefsen were held Tuesday, July 5, 1955 at 2 p.m. in the Congregational Church in Greenville with Rev, A.J. DeNeui and Rev. Albert Hurst officiating Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery Pallbearers: Merlyn Dethlefsen, Floyd Clausen, Arlan Clausen, Norman Blass, Weldon Blass, Homer Clausen Daily Reporter July, 1955
