She had been taken to the hospital about 4:30 o'clock yesterday when her condition became worse. Her husband, well–known retired farmer, died just last Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Kellogg Methodist church. Rev. W. W. Watson, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. A. W. Swanson, pastor of the Kellogg Christian church. Burial will be in Our Silent City cemetery at Kellogg. Pallbearers will be Walter Henning, Carl Henning, Leonard Jacobs, Bert Jacobs, Leonard Lenz, and John McKibbin. Mrs. Lenz' body will lie in state at the Kellogg Methodist church from 11 o'clock Monday until the time of the services. The daughter of Anton and Friederike Saak, Lena Exter was born July 27, 1874, in Germany. She came to the United States at the age of seven. She lived in Newton until her marriage May 29, 1900, to Carl Lenz, then of Laurel. In 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Lenz moved to near Kellogg, where they resided until moving to Kellogg in 1937. Mrs. Lenz was a member of the Kellogg Methodist church, the W.S.C.S. and the Missionary society and was active in church work. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Fred Henning of Melbourne, Mrs. Charles Jacobs of Kellogg, Mrs. Louren Adair of Pamona, Cal., and Mrs. Myron Birchard of Houston, Tex.; three sons, Ernest Lenz of Pamona, Cal., Adolph Lenz of Santa Maria, Cal., and Louis Lenz of Kellogg; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
